The short version

Bedside Manor does not sell or share your data, and has no ads, no tracking and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. There are no accounts to create. Everything the game needs to remember is saved on your device, in your own iCloud (iPhone and iPad), or, only if you choose to share a hospital, in the public Gallery described below. The Android version keeps everything on your device; see On Android below.

What stays on your device

Your hospitals, progress, settings and statistics are saved on your device so the game can remember where you are. A small log of game events is kept on the device for debugging; it is never sent to us.

iCloud (iPhone and iPad)

If you are signed in to iCloud, Bedside Manor saves a copy of your progress and hospitals in your own iCloud account using Apple's iCloud storage, so they come back if you reinstall or change phone. This data belongs to your Apple Account and is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We cannot see it.

Game Center (iPhone and iPad)

If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores and achievements are sent to Apple's Game Center for leaderboards, and the game can show how your Game Center friends are doing. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive your Game Center details beyond what Apple shows in the leaderboards. You can play without Game Center.

The public Gallery (optional, iPhone and iPad)

If you choose Share to the Gallery, the following is stored in a public database run for us by Apple (CloudKit) so other players can browse and visit your hospital: the hospital's name, the player name you entered or your Game Center name, the country, number of rooms, patients cured, a small picture of the hospital, the hospital layout code, and the likes and visits it receives. Anyone using the game can see this. Please do not put personal information in a hospital name or player name. You can delete a hospital you uploaded at any time from the Gallery screen in the game. Reports sent about a hospital (the hospital, its name and author, and the reason) are stored so we can review them.

Photos (iPhone and iPad)

The game asks permission only to add photos and postcards to your photo library, when you tap save. It cannot read your library.

Purchases

The one-time Full game purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and by Google through Google Play on Android. We never see your payment details.

On Android

On Android, Bedside Manor keeps everything on your device: your hospitals, progress, settings and statistics. It does not use iCloud, Game Center or the online Gallery, and it does not send us any data. If you share a postcard or photo, Android's share menu sends it to the app you pick; the game does not need access to your photos. Depending on your device settings, Android's own backup may include the game's save data; that backup is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy.

Children

Bedside Manor does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The Gallery is moderated and lets any player report or hide content and block an author.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the date above.
